Violent protests over an anti-Islam video spread across the Muslim world Friday, with attacks on western embassies in Africa and the Middle East resulting in at least five deaths, reports said.
Continuing protests over the US made film, "Innocence of Muslims", ridiculing Prophet Mohamed, unruly mob stormed the German and British embassies in the Sudanese capital Khartoum. They set the German Embassy on fire, tore down the German flag and hoisted an Islamic banner in its place. Police fired tear gas on clashing protesters outside the US embassy, where a third protester was found dead. Earlier, a demonstrator was reportedly killed when he was hit by a police vehicle.
Armed men set fire to a KFC outlet in Lebanese city of Tripoli, sparking clashes with security forces. One person has been killed in north Lebanon.
A young man died of bird shot wounds and four others injured in clashes outside US Embassy in Egyptian capital Cairo.
Troops opened fire shots near a mosque in the Nigerian city of Jos to disperse a protest against the anti-Islam film. Protests are reported to be peaceful, as hundreds of youth chanted anti-Israel and anti-US slogans.
In Tunisian capital Tunis, protesters confronted with police around the US embassy, and torched the nearby American school after looting it. Protesters who stormed the Embassy complex replaced the U.S. flag with their own black banner. Five people are reported injured in police firing.
In South Asian Muslim county of Bangladesh, thousands of demonstrators demanded harsh punishment for the film's makers, and burned the US flag.
