Mass. DA: child, struck and killed crossing street

STOUGHTON, Mass. (AP) — The Norfolk District Attorney's office says a 3-year-old girl has died after being struck while crossing a street in Stoughton.
The prosecutor's office said Friday night that Shayla Lutz of Stoughton was hit by a passing box truck at about 2:45 p.m. while crossing a street with her mother near the Hanson School. The DA's office said the initial investigation indicates they were not in a crosswalk.
The driver of the truck stopped at the scene, and the prosecutor's office said there's no evidence that speed or impairment were involved.
The statement said the accident reconstruction analysis isn't complete, but there's no evidence from the scene or witnesses to support any criminal charges.
