DALLAS (AP) — Police are blaming a wrong way driver for a deadly four-vehicle crash on a freeway northwest of downtown Dallas.
The crash happened about 7:30 a.m. Sunday in on Interstate 35E northbound at Texas 356. A police statement says a car driving south in northbound lanes of the freeway slammed into at least three other vehicles, killing the driver in one vehicle that was hit broadside. The statement identified her as 33-year-old Maria Vasquez.
Santiago Morin-Gonzalez has been charged with intoxication manslaughter as the wrong-way driver. The 21-year-old Dallas man is jailed without bond. No attorney is listed for him in jail records.
