Three Madhya Pradesh tourists killed, 6 injured in Himachal accident

MANALI: Three tourists from Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh were killed and six injured when the vehicle carrying them fell into a deep gorge near Mari, 12km from Rohtang Pass on Saturday. The accident took place when the driver lost control of the vehicle, police said. 

The deceased were identified as Rehan (5), his father Mohammad Asif (26) and Sikander (26), son of Abdul Rasak, all residents of Khandwa town in Madhya Pradesh. 

The injured, identified as Junar's wife Bina (26), his sons Junar (4) and Umesh (6) Afleen (26), wife of Asif, were taken to a hospital in Manali. All of them were stated to be out of danger, said police quoting hospital authorities. 

The driver of the vehicle, Babu and guide Rakesh, both hailing from Mandi, were also among the injured. 

The tourists had hired the cab from Mandi for visiting Manali and Rohtang Pass.
