6-yr-old boy found dead in a sump - India

BANGALORE: A six-year-old boy who had gone missing on Saturday, was found dead in a water sump of a construction site near his house at Shivapura, Peenya, on Sunday. 

Police said the owner of the under-construction building had closed the sump's cover before leaving for the day, but people living in the area removed it to collect water and then left it open. Nikith, who was playing at the construction site, is suspected to have slipped and fallen into the sump. 

Parashuram, Nikith's father, realized that his son was missing from the house in the evening and started looking for the child in the neighbourhood. 
On Sunday, neighbours told him they had seen Nikith playing near the construction site. Parashuram went to the construction site only to find his son's body in the sump. Nikith was class I student in Srinivasa School of Nelagadaranahalli.
