Two persons were allegedly killed in a bloody clash between repentant militants undergoing training under the federal government amnesty programme and students of Igbinedion University, Nigeria first private ivory tower.

Security agents were yesterday drafted to the university. Sources within the university community however said it was a clash between two rival cult groups in the institution.
This incident came barely two weeks after suspected kidnappers abducted four medical science students of the institution on their way to Benin after their examination.

A parent of one of the students of the institution, who spoke on phone on condition of anonymity, said his son called him yesterday morning to repoert the attack.
He said: “My son called me in the morning to tell me that there is clash in the institution between militants and cult members at about 5am. He also said that the two groups engaged in sporadic shooting. So we advised him to stay indoors and not to come out till the situation is under control.”
