While the promotion of the film began some time ago, all the images and trailers released so far have centred on the film's lead actor Salman Khan. Director Kabir Khan was reportedly flooded with queries as to why Kaif was missing from promos.
Speaking to India Today, a unit source said: "Fans were thirsting to get a glimpse of Katrina in the film. So far, the only sneak peek we had of the actress in the film are of on-location stills released of portions that were shot in Cuba and Dublin.
"Katrina is currently the most popular heroine in Bollywood and this poster, designed exclusively with her on it, will leave the fans excited."
With the tagline "The girl who tamed tiger", the poster shows a toned Kaif wearing a plain black vest. Ek Tha Tiger is the first Salman Khan film with a poster featuring only the heroine.
The Yash Raj Films production is a spy thriller which tells the story of an intelligence agent named Tiger, played by Khan.
The film, which has been shot in locations across Cuba, Ireland, Morocco, UK, Thailand and India, is set to release this Eid.
