Two killed, one injured in bus firing in Okara



OKARA: Two passengers were killed and another received critical injuries when alleged robbers opened fire at a moving bus at Bali Morh Haveli road on late Sunday night.

According to police, a bus of a private company (LES-9975) was heading towards Bahawalnagar from Depalpur when six robbers signalled to stop at Bali Morh Haveli road. Sensing the situation, the driver accelerate the speed of bus when robbers opened fire at the vehicle.

As a result, gunman Asghar Ali and Haider Ali died on the spot while another passenger identified as Nadeem received serious injuries.

The robbers fled from the scene under the cover of aerial firing.

Talking to media, DPO Okara Dr Abid Khan Raja said that police teams have been constituted to arrest the robbers.
